On March 6, 2026, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the Republic of Rwanda (with residence in Addis Ababa) and Permanent Representative to the African Union, Mr. Gia Matcharadze, presented his credentials to the President of the Republic of Rwanda, H.E. Paul Kagame. The ceremony was held at the President's residence, the National Palace.

On February 14, 2026 in Addis Ababa, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, Permanent Representative to the African Union, Mr. Gia Matcharadze attended the official opening ceremony of the 39th Ordinary Session of the Heads of State and Government of the African Union.

On 11 February 2026, in Addis Ababa, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, Permanent Representative to the African Union, Mr. Gia Matcharadze attended the opening ceremony of the 48th Ordinary Session of the Executive Council of the African Union.

1 to 12 December 2025, participation in the 7th meeting of the Open Committee of Permanent Representatives, as well as in the seventh session of the United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEP) at the headquarters of the United Nations Environment Programme in Nairobi, the capital of the Republic of Kenya.

On December 1, 2025 the Ambassador of Georgia to the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, Mr. Gia Matcharadze presented his credentials to the President of the Republic of Kenya, His Excellency Dr. William Ruto in Nairobi, the capital of the Republic of Kenya. The official ceremony of presenting the credentials was held at the President’s residence in the National Palace.

On October 6 2025, H.E. Gia Matcharadze Ambassador of Georgia to the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, presented his credentials to H.E. Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, Chairperson of the AU Commission. The official ceremony of handing over the credentials took place at the AU Headquarters.

On September 7, 2025 Mr. Gia Matcharadze, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia and Permanent Representative to the African Union and Ruben Morgoshia, Senior Counselor of the Embassy, attended the 2nd AFRICA-CARICOM SUMMIT opening session hosted by the Ministry of Health of Ethiopia and co-organized by African Union Commission, CARICOM and HeDPAC.

On June 27, 2025, in Addis Ababa, Mr. Gia Matcharadze, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia and Permanent Representative to the African Union, at the invitation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Office of the Prime Minister of Ethiopia, participated in the event held at the International Conference Center to launch the national program "Green Legacy".

On June 18, 2025 the Embassy of Georgia to the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia held a reception dedicated to the Independence Day of Georgia and 32th Anniversary of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between Georgia and Ethiopia. The reception was attended by the high level representatives of Ethiopian legislative and executive bodies, honorable guests, heads of diplomatic missions accredited in Addis Ababa, businessmen, representatives of orthodox and catholic churches, public figures.

On June 14, 2025, Mr. Gia Matcharadze, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia and Permanent Representative to the African Union, Mr. Ruben Morgoshia, Senior Counselor of the Embassy, at the invitation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the President of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia and Oromia Regional State, attended the opening ceremony of one of the largest production facilities in the country and the region.

On June 3, 2025, H.E. Gia Matcharadze Ambassador of Georgia to the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, presented his credentials to H.E. Taye Atske Selassie, President of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia. The official ceremony of handing over the credentials took place at the presidential residence, the National Palace.

On May 27, 2025, Ambassador-Designate of Georgia to Ethiopia, Permanent Representative to the African Union Gia Macharadze presented copies of his credentials to Aziza Geleta, Director General of the Protocol Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia.
