On October 14, 2026, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the Republic of Kenya (with residence in Addis Ababa) and Permanent Representative to the African Union Mr. Gia Matcharadze, participated in the in the first round of Political Consultations between Georgia and the Republic of Kenya, held in Nairobi, Kenya. The Georgian delegation was led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Alexandre Khvtisiashvili, while the Kenyan delegation by Mr. Abraham Korir Sing’oei, Principal Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs of the Republic of Kenya.

On October 5-9, 2026, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the United Republic of Tanzania (with residence in Addis Ababa) and Permanent Representative to the African Union Mr. Gia Matcharadze, participated in the 153rd Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) in Arusha, Tanzania, alongside the Georgian delegation led by the Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia, H.E. Mr. Shalva Papuashvili.

On September 14, 2026, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the Republic of Seychelles (with residence in Addis Ababa) and Permanent Representative to the African Union, Mr. Gia Matcharadze presented his Letters of Credence to the President of the Republic of Seychelles, H.E. Dr. Patrick Herminie. The ceremony was held at the President's residence, the State House.

On July 1 , 2026, Gia Macharadze, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the Republic of Kenya (with residence in Addis Ababa) and Permanent Representative to the African Union met with H.E. Musalia W. Mudavadi, Prime Cabinet Secretary and Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs

On March 6, 2026, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the Republic of Rwanda (with residence in Addis Ababa) and Permanent Representative to the African Union, Mr. Gia Matcharadze, presented his credentials to the President of the Republic of Rwanda, H.E. Paul Kagame. The ceremony was held at the President's residence, the National Palace.

On February 14, 2026 in Addis Ababa, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, Permanent Representative to the African Union, Mr. Gia Matcharadze attended the official opening ceremony of the 39th Ordinary Session of the Heads of State and Government of the African Union.

On 11 February 2026, in Addis Ababa, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia to the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, Permanent Representative to the African Union, Mr. Gia Matcharadze attended the opening ceremony of the 48th Ordinary Session of the Executive Council of the African Union.

1 to 12 December 2025, participation in the 7th meeting of the Open Committee of Permanent Representatives, as well as in the seventh session of the United Nations Environment Assembly (UNEP) at the headquarters of the United Nations Environment Programme in Nairobi, the capital of the Republic of Kenya.

On December 1, 2025 the Ambassador of Georgia to the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, Mr. Gia Matcharadze presented his credentials to the President of the Republic of Kenya, His Excellency Dr. William Ruto in Nairobi, the capital of the Republic of Kenya. The official ceremony of presenting the credentials was held at the President’s residence in the National Palace.

On October 6 2025, H.E. Gia Matcharadze Ambassador of Georgia to the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, presented his credentials to H.E. Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, Chairperson of the AU Commission. The official ceremony of handing over the credentials took place at the AU Headquarters.

On September 7, 2025 Mr. Gia Matcharadze, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia and Permanent Representative to the African Union and Ruben Morgoshia, Senior Counselor of the Embassy, attended the 2nd AFRICA-CARICOM SUMMIT opening session hosted by the Ministry of Health of Ethiopia and co-organized by African Union Commission, CARICOM and HeDPAC.

On June 27, 2025, in Addis Ababa, Mr. Gia Matcharadze, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Georgia and Permanent Representative to the African Union, at the invitation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Office of the Prime Minister of Ethiopia, participated in the event held at the International Conference Center to launch the national program "Green Legacy".
